High Point Market Spring 2023
Kate is back after an exciting trip to High Point Market! Team Timeless is already brainstorming how to incorporate new inspiration and ideas into our clients' designs.
What's Trending?
Faux-shearling seems to have plateaued this market and has been largely replaced by other sophisticated textural fabrics such as chenille and piqué.
Get ready to spread out on sofas that dominate entire spaces with wall-to-wall upholstery. High Point Market was consumed by oversized sectionals and double-width chaises.
Shades of terracotta and earthy greens were incorporated as a neutral in design. When paired with a variety of other colors and textures it creates a balanced aesthetic. Green was featured much more this year than cooler blue and greys had been in the past.
Dining Chairs Steal the Show
Side chairs are no longer just accessories to your dining table. This Market featured chairs that command attention with modern designs, sleek lines, and sculptural frames.
Kate believes that we will be seeing more and more unique chairs coming to Market and she is looking forward to using them with our own line of Timeless Design custom tables.
Tribal & Organic Paradise
Much to Kate's delight, tribal and kuba-cloth inspired fabrics with black and natural contrasts had a strong presence throughout Market. It also appeared in hides and real fur, wallpaper, and woven lighting and chairs.
Black, caramel, and neutral solids also drove design this Market.
Furniture throughout featured curves, caning, and organic shapes. Textural wovens were also prevalent in both indoor and outdoor design.
Kate's Verdict:
This Spring Market was serene and less whimsical. However, Kate was not bored at all. The use of tribal contrast and textural elements with grounded colors made designs both approachable and comfortable without any flatness.
Kate's Fall Market Prediction:
Already in the process of booking her hotel room for Fall Market 2023, Kate is predicting a continued rise in the use of textural fabric, large scale statements, and embracing comfortable designs.
