Traditional Dining Room Revival
The goal for this dining room project was to marry the home's existing elegant gold fixtures, the client's heirloom antique dining set, and their relaxed aesthetic. We loved the challenge of bridging the traditional furnishings with a more modern concept to achieve a fresh, more laid-back interior.
Primary Design Features
Natural Textures
- Faux grass cloth wallpaper in a neutral creamy color was applied as the room's backdrop. It provides texture and modernity, while also being conveniently easy to wipe clean.
- To lighten up the dark cherry furniture, the dining chairs were reupholstered in a relaxed linen high-performance fabric. The fabric is stain resistant and easily cleaned with tide, soap, and water, allowing clients to confidently invest in light colored upholstery.
Geometric Patterns
- A mix of vibrant contemporary geometric prints in blues and teals were selected for the rug, custom window treatments, host & hostess chair lumbar pillows, and accessories.
Art and Plants
- Dynamic artwork was incorporated to balance the conventional furniture. Palms and ferns were integrated throughout to help bring the look to life.
